Four New Frozen Treat Spots to Try This Summer

Berkshire County is no stranger to amazing ice cream and frozen yogurt. From SoCo Creamery and High Lawn Farm up to Ayelada and Topsy’s Treats, there’s something for every sweet tooth. 2024 welcomed some amazing new spots to sample. Check ‘em out below!
35 Church Street, Lenox
Craving something sweet after a late dinner in Lenox? Berkshire Cone has you covered with ice cream, gelato, sorbet and vegan options. Serving Ronnybrook Farm and SoCo flavors, order your favorite or try something new and unique from their special creations menu, like the Sweet Baby James with vanilla ice cream, sea salt caramel sauce, toffee and whipped cream. We love the picnic tables and Adirondack chairs here.
30 Main Street, West Stockbridge
Opened in July, Ella May’s is the perfect addition to West Stockbridge. On the edge of the Williams River, Ella serves delicious traditional hard flavors, as well as exciting ones like Cinnamon, Espresso Crunch and Coconut Almond. We really loved the blackberry hard serve and there is also soft serve on the menu! The bright outdoor seats here and the cozy indoors will surely attract a crowd this summer.
70 Railroad Street, Great Barrington
The legends behind Cantina 229 and Mooncloud opened juju’s in May, right next to the Triplex Cinema. If you’re hungry, come for some popcorn chicken and an awesome array of dipping sauces. Afterwards, be sure to try their velvety soft serve with great toppings, like cereal crunch or cookie crumb. If your dog enjoys a pup cup, be sure to keep this soft serve out of their reach! Juju's is also vegan friendly, with an awesome mango flavor on the menu during our visit.
549 Sheffield Plane (Route 7), Sheffield
Having trouble choosing between soft serve and hard ice cream? We know the struggle, but luckily can head to Modern Milk Bar for both! Their products are made with local milk and natural dyes and flavorings. We got the Housatonic Swamp Thing, but you'll have to visit to find out what's mixed in! Modern Milk Bar serves several homemade toppings, too, like caramelized pineapple and walnuts in pure maple syrup. We love the funky lights inside and the great outdoor seating.
